GOOD Based on 10 reviews Posted on Google Roberto VergaraTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Took my cat in for URI, because my usual vet wouldnt be able to see him until a month and White Oak was able to see him within 24hours. Of couse they were a little more expensive because they are an urgent care but its worth being seen sooner. They were super helpful and friendly even called afterwards for a follow up and see how he was doing. Would definitely recommend.Posted on Google John RoperTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They were some of the sweetest people of any vets I've taken my cats to over the years. My one cat hadn't been eating or drinking for days and I took her to the emergency 24/7 in Waldorf over the weekend but she hated it. They had to sedate her to get anything done there and she didn't get any better. But I called White Oak on Monday and they squeezed me in for a last minute appointment same day. They were gentle, wrapped her in a towel, and were able to get all the procedures done needed to get her feeling better. By the time we got home she readily ate 3 full meals and was feeling back to normal by the end of the day. I would highly recommend White Oak for any pet urgent care, or if it's after hours maybe skip the Waldorf ER vet and go somewhere else like Bowie instead.Posted on Google JaninestoneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very caring people. After diagnosis they followed up on my girl for a few days to make sure she was getting better. The pricing was what I expected. They showed me fees on everything they did before they did it. They explained everything and spent time making sure I understood. I hope I don't have to go back but, It would be the 1st place I picked if I had to take my girls in again.Posted on Google Stephanie GormasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My Poor little Yorke had diarrhea that switched to bloody poop. It was scary so I called our regular vet, they were closing for the weekend. They gave me the number of White Oak Veterinary Urgent Care in La Plata. To begin the person on the phone was caring understanding referred to my pet as my baby and I was so appreciative. She was prepared to provide me with an appointment within a couple hours. When we walked in, it was empty in the waiting area. They were very, very kind the technician (Lindsay) 🥰😻 scoop up our dog and began with baby talk to him. Next she answered all our questions and spoke to my concerns. The place was clean and spacious. Veterinarian walked in, sat down with us, explained the process that we were going to need to go through. He was given an injection to prevent vomiting and a probiotic to give him for days as needed. Lastly, the cost was not bad at all. I’m so very thankful and have been telling everyone.Posted on Google Francis HambyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I completely understand that veterinary offices can get overwhelmed and that walk-in availability is difficult to predict. However, my frustration comes from the communication and expectations that were set. My cat was injured in a fight, and while I was told it was not serious enough for an emergency hospital visit, I was also told it was urgent that he be seen as soon as possible. I called yesterday, explained the situation, and was told to try again the next day because they would “get him in.” Based on that reassurance, I trusted the process instead of scheduling a regular vet appointment elsewhere. Today, after calling back, I was told there was still no availability and now my cat has to wait until Friday for a standard appointment. Had I been told from the beginning that there were no guarantees, I could have made other arrangements sooner. This review is not about the veterinarians themselves, but about the front desk communication and scheduling expectations. I understand first-call, first-serve systems are unpredictable, but promising something that cannot actually be controlled creates unnecessary stress for pet owners already dealing with an urgent situation.Posted on Google Rachel SelbeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great experience at White Oak this afternoon when I took my dog in to get his eye checked out. My vet was booked weeks out, but White Oak was able to see my dog within a couple of hours of calling, which was a huge relief for me. My dog is pretty anxious/fear reactive in clinical settings, but the staff at White Oak were SO patient and understanding, and did their best to accommodate him and make him comfortable. The wait was short, the staff were friendly and efficient, and the price was way more reasonable than I was expecting. With how busy the local vets have become, and how far most animal hospitals are from SOMD, it's reassuring to have a place like this available, especially on weekends. I will definitely be recommending White Oak to anyone that needs help.Posted on Google Joanne MoffettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr. Nancy McGuire treated my cat following his discharge a week prior from a different emergency facility. She did a comprehensive review of his previous treatment records; conducted a thorough physical examination; performed sophisticated imaging onsite; and addressed all of my concerns regarding my cat's prognosis and care. She also provided me with a detailed report of her findings. He's thriving now for which I am deeply grateful. We ❤️ Dr. McGuire. In addition to Dr. McGuire, I was impressed with the professionalism of the entire staff, especially Blair, the vet tech, who was gentle and caring with my cat, and even gave him a Churru treat for his cooperative behavior. The morning following his treatment, the staff called me to check on his progress -- this proactive step showed me how much they truly cared about my cat's progress. The facility itself is modern and super clean. The examination rooms were equipped with white noise machines to help calm anxious pets and pet parents. I will not hesitate to seek care from White Oak Veterinary Urgent Care in the future. They are the best!Posted on Google MPTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Been there several times since it opened. Really liked it at first but it’s gone downhill. My dog was misdiagnosed a few months ago and subsequently received painful and expensive medication for several months. I wanted to give them another chance so I went back recently. I only saw the vet for a few minutes at the beginning of the appt. After running tests on my dog, the tech walked in and handed me a script for a med. No one told me the results of the testing. I had to ask. I brought up a concern at that time but was blown off. Wish I could see the same level of dedication in addressing medical concerns as collecting paymentPosted on Google AliWooTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Easy to make appointment but very slow service. Workers are very pleasant. Just be prepared to be there for a while.
